My interpretations of 'Where's the Love' by the Black Eyed Peas

First verse:

-What's wrong with the world, mama

People livin' like they ain't got no mamas

To me, the phrase 'what's wrong with the world mama' imitates a young innocent child witnessing an act of terrorism for the first time confused of how a human being could create such devastating disaster. The parent replies with shock staring at the news saying 'people living like they ain't got no mamas'

-I think the whole world addicted to the drama

Only attracted to things that'll bring you trauma 

This part only uncovers a slight part of the truth for such destruction. Maybe a small portion of the reason for terrorism is related to lack of attention and the way they get attention is by traumatizing another place's citizens.

-Then you only leave space to discriminate

And to discriminate only generates hate 

I think another reason for terrorism relates to the global issues called Racism.

-And when you hate then you're bound to get irate, yeah

Madness is what you demonstrate

And that's exactly how anger works and operates

I think anger is what really makes people insane enough to do crazy things to their own species.

[Chorus]

-People killin', people dyin'

Children hurt and you hear them cryin'

Why does terrorism happen when all that occurs is "people killin' [and] people dyin' Children hurt and you [can] hear them cryin'"

-Father, Father, Father help us

Send some guidance from above

'Cause people got me, got me questionin'

Where is the love (Love)

Innocent victims are confused of how people could treat each other like this and are crying for help!

[Second verse]

-Nations droppin' bombs

Chemical gasses fillin' lungs of little ones

With ongoin' sufferin' as the youth die young

Just some of the ways Terrorism happens and how it affects not only the adults responsible but the harmless young children.

-Makin' wrong decisions, only visions of them dividend

People are becoming blinded from the great greed humans are capable of. They are ignoring their conscience and going for the greed.

-A war is goin' on but the reason's undercover

The truth is kept secret, it's swept under the rug

What is the real reason for Terrorism?  Why is no one clear the reason?

[Third verse]

-Most of us only care about money makin'

Selfishness got us followin' our wrong direction

Again, people are being blinded and leaded into the wrong direction.

-Wrong information always shown by the media

Negative images is the main criteria

Infecting the young minds faster than bacteria

Kids wanna act like what they see in the cinema

Maybe thats the reason why its happening repeatedly. They want attention so the make big disasters that attract publicity and the media. Its brain washing children into becoming blinded by greed!

-Lack of understanding, leading lives away from unity

Maybe, people are angry that nobody understands them. For example, in the movie 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' Jack was angry and sad that no one understood the meaning of Christmas and what he was thinking. But instead of throwing bombs and threatening the lives of the people around them like in reality, Jack tried to adapt to the new environment!
